What Huntsville would look like in Mario Kart
Reading time: 3 minutes
Huntsville is full of landmarks that help us stand out from the crowd, but have you ever wondered which Mario Kart track best represents each of these areas?
Probably not, but we’ve done our best to compile a list of the tracks that we feel best make up our city!
Parkway Place Mall / Coconut Mall
With only one (indoor) mall left in Huntsville, Parkway Place was the clear choice for Coconut Mall.
The two malls even have a similar layout, with two floors of shops and a hard-to-navigate parking lot.
Space and Rocket Center / Rainbow Road
When it comes to space-themed locations, The US Space and Rocket Center and Rainbow Roads are both global icons.
Rainbow Road was going to go to Memorial Parkway, due to the difficulty people have driving on each.
Monte Sano / Rock Rock Mountain
Mario Kart has no shortage of mountain-themed tracks.
Maple Treeway and Choco Mountain were both considered for Monte Sano, but in the end, we gave it to Rock Rock Mountain due to the similar aesthetics and ample mountain paths.
Research Park / Baby Park
This one has to do with the shape of both roads being oval.
The name is just a coincidence.
565 / Moonview Highway
Moonview Highway runs through dense cityscapes that Huntsville hasn’t quite reached… yet.
But while there are plenty of highways with a “Moonview”, 565’s got a pretty good rocketview (which is close enough).
Botanical Gardens / Peach Gardens
Lush, well-maintained gardens full of large abstract plant statues!
Bridge Street / Madrid Drive
Bridge Street looks most like the old-school Mario Kart track Delfino Square from the DS, but we wanted to stick with more modern tracks for this list.
Madrid Drive isn’t that far off though, as both locations have similar architecture and long winding pathways.
Other Mario Kart honorable mentions
When I think of meadows full of cows, I think of Jones Valley.
This could be a picture of Cecil Ashburn.
This one is pretty obviously Huntsville International Airport, but Airport Road works too.
