Here’s what’s open + closed in the Rocket City for Christmas

As we begin Christmas week, several businesses and government offices will be closed in the next few days or will operate under special hours.

Here is a rundown of what’s open and closed here in the Huntsville area for Christmas 2024.:

Christmas Eve + Christmas Day 2024

City, county, state and federal government offices will be closed Dec. 25 (this includes the USPS, the Madison County Courthouse, Huntsville and Madison City halls and Huntsville Animal Services), and trash pickup will be delayed by a day in Huntsville.

Most locally owned shops will be open Dec. 24 but will be closed Dec. 25.

Otherwise, if you are getting in some last minute shopping or need an ingredient for a Christmas recipe, here’s what’s open and closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25:
