Where Madison County gas prices now rank in Alabama

Gas prices have been a hot topic over the last couple of years — and especially now during an election year — as many states saw near-record high prices in 2022.

As gas prices have started to fall, Madison County actually now enjoys some of the lowest prices in the state.

Currently, according to AAA, the average gallon of gas in Madison County is $3.169. This is below the national average of $3.519 per gallon, and matches the state average.

However, AAA shows that Madison County is among the lower tier of counties when it comes to average gas prices.

While paying more than $3 for a gallon of gas is still higher than we are used to here in the Huntsville area, prices have decreased considerably since hitting nearly $4.60 per gallon in 2022.
