I got to meet up with a Madison mom of two James Clemens baseball stars to learn more about her real estate career and why it’s been the perfect job for her. Read on for all the details.
Meet Heather
Originally from Florida, Heather and her husband settled down in Madison in 2002. They have two boys who are in high school and keep them busy playing travel baseball and starting on the James Clemens team.
Aside from watching her boys play baseball, Heather loves walking her dog and traveling. Some of her favorite places she’s been are the Virgin Islands, Utah, New York and Colorado.
She’s been a real estate agent since 2017 but decided to join the RealtySouth team in 2020.

Finance, motherhood + real estate
Before working in real estate, Heather launched her degree in finance, which is the field she originally studied in college. She also spent some time in operations and compliance but later decided to take a career break after having her two sons.
Once her younger son started elementary school, Heather decided it was time to go back to work, but she knew she wanted to try something different. In her previous roles, she had to travel a lot, and she wanted a more flexible career to prioritize her family.
One of her favorite aspects of working in finance was interacting with clients, so she decided to transfer those skills to the real estate world and become an agent.

Why she loves her day-to-day
