The Restaurant Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.
To qualify for an award, a wine list must present complete, accurate information, including vintages and appellations for all selections. Complete producer names and correct spellings are mandatory, and the overall presentation of the list is also considered.
This year’s Restaurant Awards include these local restaurants:
- Char Restaurant (931 Bob Wallace Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35801)
- Domaine South (200 West Side Square, Huntsville, AL 35801)
- Le Petit Bijou (103 North Side Square, Huntsville, AL 35801)
Making wine a priority

This year’s awards program recognizes 3,777 dining destinations from all 50 states in the U.S. and more than 75 countries internationally.
“The restaurant industry is growing and thriving, with restaurant openings surpassing pre-pandemic levels for the first time. To take advantage of the uptick, restaurateurs are investing in their wine programs. Restaurants that make wine a priority are what the Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards program is all about.”
Marvin R. Shanken, editor and publisher, Wine Spectator
The Restaurant Awards issue becomes available to readers July 9th.
