Winter sporting events to see here in the Rocket City

While college football is king as far as sports go here in Alabama, the next few months that follow the football season are pretty darn entertaining in their own right. And here in the Huntsville area, we have several sporting events you can attend over the next few months.

Huntsville Havoc hockey

The Huntsville Havoc season is in full swing, and you can catch one or more of their home games at Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center. They have 14 home games over the next three months, so you have plenty of time to catch them during the season.

UAH basketball

UAH has some fantastic basketball teams on the men’s and women’s side, so if you like basketball, you’ll love coming out to Spragins Hall to cheer on the Chargers!

Alabama A&M basketball

The Bulldogs–women’s and men’s basketball teams–have nine more home games left in the season, so be sure to come out and catch a game or two at the AAMU Event Center!

NCAA gymnastics

Huntsville welcomes Elevate the Stage back for a sixth year. It will feature over 1,500 youth gymnasts and four NCAA Women’s Gymnastics teams in Auburn, Clemson, UGA and Pitt.

Conference USA basketball championships

The 2026 Conference USA Basketball Championships take place March 10-14, featuring 20 men’s and women’s basketball teams, playing 18 games with C-USA titles and NCAA automatic bids on the line.
