Who made the WorldAtlas list

The WorldAtlas report describes the towns on its list as “towns where life moves at a slower pace.”
“Across the Southern United States, these laid-back towns share a few traits. You’ll find walkable historic downtowns that still feel true to their original design, along with local shops and gathering spots that are part of everyday life.
Many are close to rivers, forests, or mountain landscapes, which helps keep the pace slower. Growth hasn’t taken over, so everything is still steady and unhurried. That’s what sets these towns apart from faster-moving parts of the region.

Here are the towns that made the list:
- Pecos, Texas
- Eureka Springs, Arkansas
- Natchitoches, Louisiana
- Townsend, Tennessee
- Dahlonega, Georgia
- Guntersville, Alabama
- Water Valley, Mississippi

- Blowing Rock, North Carolina
The report noted lake activity and quaint downtown shopping in Guntersville as some of the reasons for its inclusion on the list. Read the full report HERE.
