You filled in the blank: you know you live in Huntsville when…
Reading time: 2 minutes

Huntsville is unique in many ways, from the random big booms to the temperatures that range from the high 80s to the low 20s the next day—and you can’t forget about the traffic.
On Facebook, we asked, “You know you live in Huntsville when?” and you answered. Here are a few picks:
“What was that?”

We are all used to the random booms we hear throughout the day, so we don’t even bother to ask, “What was that?”
“Your whole house rumbles during rocket testing but you barely notice.”

Not only do we not question it, but it can even shift our home’s foundation.
“When the booms actually make your mobile home or home shift off the foundation.”

“Alexa, what’s the weather?”

Living in Alabama means you never know when it’s the right time to put away your winter clothes, because you might need them the next day.
“When you have a 70 degree weather one day and a 20 degree the next”
Rosalia Stearns, via Facebook comment
Not only is our weather crazy, but the storms are, too. One day it can be storming, and the next day there is a cold front and snow.
“When you have snow and a tornado in the same week.”

“Are we there yet?”

The people of Huntsville are very vocal about traffic. Some may even say it’s a good conversation starter.
“Even though the highway has five lanes, everyone’s stuck using the same one to get where they need to go”
Nicole Harper, via Facebook comment.
Did you know that there’s a Facebook group discussing traffic in North Alabama? Like I said, Huntsvillians are super passionate about traffic.
“You have a community page that only talks about 565 traffic at 5PM.”
Elizabeth Hale, via Facebook comment
