The first full weekend of October is coming up, and there are plenty of fun weekend events happening in and around the Rocket City over the next few days.

From live music to comedy shows to fall festivals, you’re going to want to make time for some of these cool weekend events:

You can find a wide array of musical genre’s playing live in and around Huntsville this weekend, with many of Huntsville’s weekend events involving live music in some way or another.

Here are a few of the shows this weekend:

  • Jeremy Noble Band: Oct. 6, Stovehouse, 6:30PM. This longtime local musician is super-talented, and has played with the likes of Sara Evans, Maren Morris, Heavy Heavy Hearts and more.
  • The Wallflowers: Oct. 6, Von Braun Center, 7PM. Don’t miss 90s music legends The Wallflowers as they dazzle fans at the Mars Music Hall at the VBC.
  • Maxwell: Oct. 7, Orion Amphitheater, 7PM. Catch this Grammy-nominated soul singer extraordinaire at the Orion this weekend.
  • Keb’ Mo: Oct. 7, Mark C. Smith Concert Hall, 7:30PM. Catch this 5-time Grammy Award winner and blues music legend in the Rocket City Saturday night.
  • Saving Abel: Oct. 7, Toyota Field, 5:30PM. Saving Abel is a Southern rock band with catchy hooks and heavy riffs. Playing at Toyota Field, this should be a fabulous show.

One of the best parts of fall is that festivals are abundant around ehre due to the cooler weather. And this weekend is no exception. Check out these cool weekend events in the Huntsville area:

  • Jamie Lee: Oct. 6-8, Stand Up Live, Fri. 7PM, 9:PM; Sat. 6:30PM, 8:45PM, Sun. 6PM. Don’t miss the comedy performance by “Ted Lasso” producer and Emmy Award winner Jamie Lee.
  • Fall for All: Oct. 7, Big Spring Park, 1PM-4PM. Enjoy a petting zoo, midway-style games and kids’ crafts as Huntsville Parks & Rec celebrates fall.
  • Madison Street Festival: Oct. 7, Downtown Madison, 9AM. This annual event includes a parade through town, music, and arts and crafts
  • Oktoberfest 2023: Oct. 7, The Camp at MidCity, 12PM. Enjoy live music, German food, delicious beer and more.
  • Providence Market: Oct. 8, Village of Providence, 9AM-2PM. Grab some fresh produce, local honey, crafts, art, lotions and soaps at the Providence Market.

Catch some high school football, give a 5K race a shot or take a yoga class this weekend — there are plenty of sports and fitness opportunities:

  • Fort Payne vs. Hazel Green: Oct. 6, Hazel Green High School, 7PM. See Friday Night Lights at its best as Hazel Green hosts Ft. Payne on the gridiron.
  • CityWide Boot Camp: Oct. 7, Big Spring Park, 9AM. Join Huntsville Parks & Rec and instructors from Burn Boot Camp for this free workout.
  • Tiny Toes 5K: Oct. 7, Cleveland Avenue and Meridian Street, 8AM. This race in Downtown Huntsville includes a 5K and a 1-mile fun run.
  • Mindful Vinyasa Yoga: Oct. 7, Light on Yoga Fitness, 9AM. Hannah leads this class that will balance tyour mind and body.
  • Guided Hike at Harvest Square: Oct. 7, Harvest Square Nature Preserve, 10AM. Forager Casey Lanier leads this hike at Harvest Square to look at the plants throughout the area. Keep in mind, this is a 2-mile hike and is not intended for collecting plants but for discovering them.
