The first weekend of November is upon us, and there is no shortage of exciting stuff to do in and around Huntsville over the next few days. From sporting events to live music and more, we have you covered when it comes to weekend activities.

From classical music to rock and roll, there are plenty of live music shows happening this weekend in the Rocket City. Here are just a few events to catch this weekend:

  • Huntsville Symphony Orchestra: Nov. 3, Mark C. Smith Concert Hall, 7PM. Catch the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra perform Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Toward the Unknown Region.”
  • Round Top Folk Festival: Nov. 4-5, Burritt on the Mountain, 12PM. This 2-day folk festival is fun for all ages, and takes place at one of Huntsville’s most beautiful venues.
  • Limestoners: Nov. 4, Stovehouse, 7PM. This free show is one you won’t want to miss. The Limestoners play music from multiple genres and eras, and are tons of fun.
  • Time of the Phoenix Album release event: Nov. 5, Orion Amphitheater, 12:30PM. This event celebrates the release of the compilation album Time of the Phoenix, featuring local artists such as Morgan Sloan, Gus Hergert, John Onder and more.
  • Nautical Wheelers Duo: Nov. 5, Stella’s Elixir Lounge, 5PM. This Jimmy Buffett trubute band is so talented and like Buffett himself, so much fun.

The annual Under the Christmas Tree market is perhaps the biggest event happening this weekend in the Rocket City, but there are several events happening in and around town, such as:

  • Under the Christmas Tree: Nov. 4-6: Von Braun Center, Fri. 8AM-6PM, Sat. 10AM-6PM, Sun. 12PM-5PM. Randolph School’s annual fundraiser, this 3-day market attracts approximately 10,000 shoppers and 100+ vendors from throughout the region.
  • Huntsville Comic Convention: Nov. 3-4, Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, 11AM-7PM. There will be thousands of comics, tons of vendors, shows and more at this 2-day event.
  • Mojo Brookzz: Nov. 3-4, Stand Up Live, Fri. 7PM, Sat. 6:30PM, 8:45PM. Catch the hilarious stand up comedy show from Mojo Brookzz at Stand Up Live.
  • German Food Festival: Nov. 4, Messiah Lutheran Church, 11AM-2PM. Love German food? Well don’t miss this celebration of German cuisine in Madison Saturday.
  • Airness: Nov. 3-5, UAH Graves Hall, Fri-Sat. 7:30PM, Sun. 2PM. Check out this live theater performance – a comedy about competition, completion and finding the “airness” inside yourself.

AVCA Fall Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championships
You don’t want to miss the AVCA Fall Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship. (Huntsville Sports Commission).

There are so many opportunities to watch and/or participate in sports activities this weekend in the Rocket City. Check these out:

  • AVCA Beach Volleyball Championships: Nov. 3-5, John Hunt Park, 9AM. The women’s tournament will consist of 64 pairs selected from college beach teams across the country. The men’s event will bring four schools to Huntsville to compete for the first men’s collegiate beach team national championship.
  • Huntsville Havoc vs. Birmingham: Nov. 3-4, Propst Arena, 7PM. Cheer on your very own Huntsville Havoc as they take the ice against the Bulls this weekend. 
  • UAH Volleyball: Nov. 3, Spraggins Hall, 6PM. The Chargers volleyball team takes on Montevallo Friday night.
  • Tootsie Roll 5K: Nov. 4, Madison City Schools Stadium, 8AM. This 5K begins at the stadium and runs through downtown Madison.
  • Alabama A&M vs FAMU: Nov. 4, Louis Crews Stadium, 1PM. The Bulldogs are at home and hosting Florida A&M on the gridiron.
