The weekend is almost upon us, and despite the really hot weather we have had this week in the Huntsville area, there are some really cool events happening around town over the next few days.

Catch some live music this weekend

• Billy Strings: Aug. 25-26, Orion Amphitheater, 7PM. Check out this amazingly talented Grammy-winning musician perform two shows at the Orion.
• Liam St. John: Aug. 25, Stovehouse, 8PM. Liam St. John plays Stovehouse with guests Nate Bergman and Wheelwright.
• Rodney Carrington: Aug. 26, Mark C. Smith Concert Hall, 7PM. This hilarious comedian/musician has sold millions of albums and sells out his performances nationwide.
• Summerfest on the Square: Aug. 26, Downtown Athens, 5:30PM. Live music in Athens featuring Ledfoot, Backroad Sinners and more.
• Microwave Dave: Aug. 27, Humphrey’s Bar & Grill, 11AM. Enjoy a delicious brunch at Humphrey’s while hearing the fabulous music from the legendary Microwave Dave.
• Noel Webster: Aug. 27, Rhythm on Monroe, 5PM. Enjoy the rooftop at Rhythm on Monroe with the tunes of Noel Webster.

Sports + fitness events this weekend in the Huntsville area

Both the Trash Pandas and the Huntsville City FC are in town this weekend, so there are plenty of opportunities to see some sporting events in the Huntsville area. Check these out:

• Trash Pandas vs Birmingham Barons: Aug. 25-2, Toyota Field, 6:30PM. The Trash Pandas take on in-state rivals the Birmingham Barons all weekend.
• Hazel Green vs. Sparkman: Catch some high school football with this regional match-up between two local powerhouse teams.
• Hartselle vs Austin: Aug. 25, Austin High School, 7PM. High school football kicks off this weekend, and there’s a local matchup between Hartselle and Austin Friday night.
• Learn to Skate: Aug. 26, Huntsville Ice Sports Center, 11AM. Adults can learn to ice skate at this tutorial session at the Ice Sports Center Saturday.
• Huntsville City FC vs Inter Miami: Aug. 27, Joe Davis Stadium, 6PM. Your Huntsville City Football Club is at home Sunday against Miami.
