Father’s Day weekend is upon us, and if you’re a dad I hope you (or your loved ones) have something special planned. And even if you’re not a father, you’re sure to find something cool to do this weekend here in the Huntsville area.

One of the country’s hottest comedians brings his wildly popular show to Huntsville at the Orion Amphitheater this weekend.

2. City Lights + Stars Concert

Head up to Burritt on the Mountain for a live music event in one of the best settings in Huntsville. This edition of the popular concert series features Utopia, an ensemble of talented performers and a culmination of some of the mid-south’s most respected, experienced and professional musicians.

3. Little Shop of Horrors

This weekend, Theatre Huntsville’s production of “Little Shop of Horrors,” opens at the Von Braun Center. This beloved musical runs through June 23.

5. Night Camp’s Flag Day Variety Show

Night Cam — Huntsville’s own stand-up, improv, and drag showcase — is back Friday at Shenanigan’s Comedy Theatre. This talented ensemble is hilarious and entertaining, so don’t miss it!

Stock up on fresh produce, local arts and crafts and more at the Madison City Farmers Market Saturday.

 7. HPT Cars and Coffee

Automobile enthusiasts can come to Stovehouse Saturday, where you’re break out those rides and join Horsepower Thearpy for HPT Cars and Coffee.

10. Hoedown at The Camp

Come out the The Camp at MidCity to enjoy a good old fashioned howdown, featuring a mechanical bull, multiple vendors and food truck and live music from Smokey Jones and the 3 Dollar Pistols.

11. Huntsville Elks Flag Day Ceremonies

The Huntsville Elks Lodge has a wonderful tradition celebrating Flag Day. This Saturday, come out and learn about America’s flags — from our first to today — in a touching ceremony.

12. Family Tie-dye Party

Here’s another family fun event this weekend in the Rocket City! Head to the Downtown Huntsville Public Library and learn to tie-dye — just bring an article of clothing you want tie-dyed and the library provides the rest.

13. Live + Local featuring Dave Anderson

Come out to Back Forty Brewing to catch a live performance of one of Huntsville’s most talented musicians. Dave Anderson will be on hand performing cool tunes to go with some tasty craft beer.

Come out to The Speakeasy at Straight to Ale for this open mic, where you can sign up and share your poetry, short stories, a piece of fiction or any form of literary wordy goodness.
