The weekend is almost upon us, and we have plenty of exciting events you should check out over the next few days here in the Huntsville area.

Live music
We have some cool and pretty musically diverse live music events happening in and around town. Take a look at these:
- Australian ELVIS: Nov. 17, Blind Tiger, 6:30PM. Get ready to be taken back in time with this Internationally Award Winning Elvis Tribute Show.
- Drive-By Truckers: Nov. 17, Mars Music Hall, 8PM. Catch these Alabama-based rockers live at the mArs Music Hall. Early James is opening.
- Huntsville Drum Circle: Nov. 18, Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, 12PM. This free show celebrates 35 years of fabulous percussionists gathering in the Rocket City to create beautiful beats.
- Jordan Gillis: Nov. 18, Stovehouse, 6PM. Gillis is known for his rare combination of soulful singing and virtuosic lead guitar.
- Tyler Reese Tritt: Nov. 18, Rocket Republic Downtown, 8PM. The daughter of country star Travis Tritt brings her talent to the Rocket City.
Sports + fitness
Basketball season is here, and we have some great games and exciting events happening this weekend, with women’s and men’s college hoops and our own professional team, the North Alabama War Dawgs.
- UAH Men’s Basketball: Nov. 17-18, Kelly Court at Spragins Hall, Fri. 7:30PM, Sat. 4PM. The Chargers host Lincoln Memorial Friday night and Fisk Saturday afternoon.
- 7th Annual Soul to Sole Tribe 5k: Nov. 18, Village of Providence, 9AM. Participants will have the option to run a traditional 5k course with some fun Inflatable obstacles or race in the Tribe 5k which is a combination Inflatables & workouts sure to test all fitness levels.
- Rivalry Run 5K: Nov. 18, Cowart Elementary, 7AM. Every year, on the weekend before the Alabama vs Auburn Football Game, there is an annual Rivalry Run hosted by SPARK Academy at Cowart Elementary. By participating in this fun community event, you can help provide classroom tools and supplies to support the hardworking students and dedicated teachers at SPARK Academy.
- Alabama A&M Women’s Basketball: Nov. 18, AAMU Event Center, 5PM. Cthc the Lady Bulldogs take on Tennessee Tech Saturday.
- North Alabama War Dawgs vs. Edgewood 96ers: Nov. 18, James Clemens High School, 7PM. Cheer on the War Dawgs in their home opener for the 2023-24 hoops season.
Shows, exhibits, festivals
Catch some comedy shows, LEGO exhibits, Christmas lights and more this weekend in the Rocket City.
- Lights Up! At Bridge Street: Nov. 17, Bridge Street Town Centre, 4:30PM – 7 PM. This free event is the 14th annual “Lights Up!” at Bridge Street. Santa and Mrs. Claus will make special appearances as they light a 45-foot Christmas tree to celebrate the holiday season in Huntsville.
- Galaxy of Lights: Nov. 17-Dec. 31, Huntsville Botanical Garden, 5PM-9PM. Don’t miss your chance to experience Huntsville’s favorite holiday light event. This year, Galaxy of Lights brings new and magical light displays to experience.
- The Age of Armor: Nov. 10-Jan. 14, Huntsville Museum of Art. This new exhibit explores the story of armor in its golden age.
- Brick Universe: Nov. 18-19, VBC South Hall, 10AM-12:20PM, 1:30PM-4PM. Check out incredible LEGO exhibits and creations built by famous LEGO artists from around the country, LEGO building zones, Star Wars, brick merchants and more.
- Theo Von: Nov. 19, VBC Propst Arena, 7PM. Theo Von’s Return of the Rat comedy tour comes to the Rocket City.
