Huntsville Museum of Art

Every March, Youth Art Month is celebrated nationwide in recognition of the importance of quality art education and in honor of the success of young artists.
The Huntsville Museum of Art annually provides a space to highlight pieces from North Alabama students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This year, the museum will be home to pieces entered into Alabama’s branch of the Congressional Art Competition alongside 200 other works from local students.
Student work is across age and genre, and visitors can expect to see paintings, drawings, mixed media works, collages, prints, photographs and computer-generated artworks. The opening reception for Youth Art Month is this Sunday, March 8, and the pieces will be on display through Saturday, March 21.
Museum patrons will also be able to view the permanent pieces and additional galleries currently on display:

The Curated Gallery

Thursday March 5 starts The Curated Gallery’s celebration of women in fine art in a gallery entitled Metamorphosis: Exploring Growth, Change, and the Beauty of Becoming.
This exhibition, on view for Women’s History Month, comprises a collective of artists’ works across different modalities, including painting, sculpture, textile, photography and installation.
The exhibition is set up to take its visitors on a journey, as the pieces are organized into three movements — “Dissolution,” “Becoming” and “Emergence” — all a part of the metamorphosis gallery theme.
Lowe Mill artist Liza Jane Richey has a large wooden sculpture on display and painted words on one of the exhibit walls! Her works are not ones you want to miss.
The Curated Gallery always supplies visitors with an incredibly artistic experience, and we know Metamorphosis will do the same.
