This past week saw a handful of new business openings or announcements of openings in the Huntsville area, continuing the trend of business growth in the area that shows no sign of slowing down.

Here are the new businesses we welcomed to the area this past week:

1. Dashu Japanese Cuisine + Bar

We wrote about Dashu when they announced they would open soon on Airport Road, and the wait is over! The Japanese restaurant and bar is now open, serving up authentic Japanese cuisine—including hibachi and sushi—and classic cocktails at the bar.

2. PJ’s Coffee

Pj’s Coffee, based in NEw Orleans, already has a location in Madison, so folks in the Huntsville metro have been able to enjoy their delicious coffee. But Huntsville is getting its own PJ’s Coffee soon!

3. Stir’s Cereal Bar

A cereal bar chain is coming to the Rocket City, as Stir’s announced it will open its first Alabama location here in Huntsville. Stir’s provides a taste of nostalgic childhood cereals, fun collaborations and dessert-like creations that appeal to kids of all ages.

Mr. Po Boy is closing

Unfortuntaley, along with the new business openings in the Huntsville area comes a closing as well. We were so excited to report last fall that Mr. Po Boy was re-opening in Gurley, but a message on the restaurant’s Facebook page this past week said the Cajun eatery is closing again, this time for good.
