It’s time to say goodbye to a few Huntsville spots while we welcome a few new local businesses to the fold. Here’s the scoop:

Closings

We’ll get the bad news out of the way first. Here are the closing’s we’ve heard about lately:

1. Checkers on University

We haven’t heard the full story on what’ll be taking the place of this fast-food joint—just that you’ll have to head somewhere else to get your late-night burgers and fries for now.

2. Cafe 153

Unfortunately, it’s almost time to say goodbye to one of Bridge Street’s best study spots. The cafe will be closing at the end of October to make way for a new spot—more details below.

Openings

And now, the good news! Here are the fresh spots we can’t wait to visit:

1. The Curry

If you love fresh takes on classic Indian cuisine, you’ve got to try Five Points’ newest restaurant, The Curry. Locals will know the spot as the old home of Mario’s. It’s the best new spot to get a variety of Indian foot, with lots of vegetarian options available, too.

2. Peachtree & Co.

Stovehouse’s Gaslight Alley has a new tenant: Peachtree Interior Design just opened a new office and showroom, Peachtree & Co. Head over for gifts, home furnishings, design services and more.

3. Paris Misfits

Epic Brands, the group behind Agave & Rye, is bringing a brand new concept to Bridge Street in early 2023. Paris Misfits will be a shopping + eating experience influenced by an eclectic Paris cafe, with unique art, a chef-inspired menu and an extensive selection of cocktails—European sophistication with a bold Epic Brands twist.
