34 new million-dollar construction permits approved in Alabama, May 10th

We’ve got the inside scoop on 34 new million-dollar-plus construction permits awarded to contractors in Alabama last week, including several exciting projects in the greater Huntsville region. Keep reading for information like contractor names, contracts, permits values, project addresses and much more.

1. A $14.8M Distribution Center in Decatur

Birmingham-based commercial real estate company Graham & Company is working on a new distribution facility along Bibb Garrett Road in Decatur. Located just over a mile away from the I-65/I-565 interchange, the facility has easy access to interstate travel. And that’s not all:

  • 305,760 square-feet of space
  • 70+ dock doors to park a trailer
  • 135-foot truck apron
  • Drive-in ramps available as needed per tenant

Graham & Company plans to have the distribution center finished by January 2022.

2. Laurel at Dry Creek in Huntsville

Huntsville is getting another multi-family apartment community, thanks to Gateway Ventures Real Estate. Located next to The Lodge at Johns Road, this new development is called Laurel at Dry Creek, and includes 328 units inside 16 two- and three-story apartment and townhome buildings. Positioned on a 20-acre site, each building will consist of wood frame construction with a masonry and fiber cement exterior. Inside, each unit will include luxury finishes such as hard surface countertops and stainless steel appliances.

In addition, residents will be able to enjoy:

  • More than 7,000 square feet of amenity space, including a fitness space, a clubhouse, a community lounge, an outdoor swimming pool and more.
  • Access to surface parking for 524 vehicles.
  • A six-bay garage building.
  • A maintenance building including a dog wash & car wash space.

Gateway Ventures Real Estate is working with McShane Construction Company and architects Dynamik Design on the project, which they hope to finish by September 2022.

3. The Reserve at North Ridge

Huntsville-based Davidson Homes is working on a new single-family home community in the North Ridge area of Cullman. Once complete, The Reserve at North Ridge will include upwards of 60+ homes, available in nine different floor plans and ranging from $288,000 to $383,000. Currently, five homes are under construction in the development, while nine other homesites are already purchased.
