Well, Huntsvillians, we are almost two months into 2023 — believe it or not — and spring is almost upon us. It’s certainly in the air these days as March approaches, and there are plenty of events and other fun things to do in Huntsville in March.

Origami in the Garden

Orgiami in the Garden is a fun new exhibit at the Huntsville Botanical Garden begins in March and runs through the summer. Created by Santa Fe artists Jennifer and Kevin Box in collaboration with world-renowned origami artists, this exhibit is inspired by the art of folding paper to make elegant objects.

Huntsville City Football Club preseason games

Huntsville’s pro soccer team is preparing for its inaugural season, and has four preseason “friendly” matches scheduled for March, with three of them here in Huntsville. Cheer on the Huntsville City Football Club all month!

Big Ol’ Ballpark Fair

Get your family and friends ready for some fairground fun, folks. The Big Ol’ Ballpark Fair is coming back to Toyota Field in March, and promises to be even bigger and better than before.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

This year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade downtown has a new route, with the primary viewing area at Courthouse Square. The Grand Marshal is Máirtín Ó Muilleoir, owner of Belfast Media Group that publishes the Irish Echo. He also served on the Belfast City Council in the during The Troubles and served as Lord Mayor in 2013. This should be a fun time as always!

Huntsville Yoga Week

March is a great month to get healthy, especially since its so much easier to get outside. So why not participate in Huntsville Yoga week, March 20-26? This year’s event will include classes at Bridge Street Town Centre, Old Black Bear, Burritt on the Mountain, Village of Providence, Stovehouse, U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Lowe Mill, MidCity District and the Orion Amphitheater.

Voltage Music and Arts Festival

Do yourselves a favor and take a short trip over to Scottsboro toward the end of the month for the Voltage Music & Arts Festival! Whether you want to shop, catch some live music or dance, there’s something for you at this event!

Of course there are plenty of other events and happenings in and around Huntsville next month, but these are certainly a start!
