5 new business openings in the Huntsville area this week
In and around the Rocket City, we have seen new businesses open at a rapid rate, showcasing the immense growth happening in the area. From new restaurants to heavy machinery rental businesses and just about everything in between, new business openings are abundant here in the Huntsville area.
Here are a few openings that have occurred or been announced over the last week:
1. Food City Grocery
This is about multiple new business openings all in one. The Huntsville City Council last week approved a resolution assisting the opening of six new Food City grocery stores in the Huntsville area. Construction will begin on the first store this month.

2. Maple Street Biscuit Company
Now open in Clift Farm in Madison, Maple Street Biscuit Company is a new breakfast and brunch spot that serves up some of the best waffles, pancakes and (of course) biscuits in town.

3. Trashy Dawg Epic Chicken & Booze Room
From the creators of Agave + Rye comes a new concept opening this summer at Bridge Street Town Centre, the Trashy Dawg Epic Chicken & Booze Room. This unique eatery and watering hole is a new concept that is opening first in Huntsville before hopefully spreading throughout the region.

4. NexGen Crane & Rigging
NexGen Crane & Rigging — a Mississippi-based crane, rigging, and transport company — host a ribbon cutting ceremony at their new facilities in Athens last week. The yard includes a 100×125-foot equipment shed, with future plans for office space and a mechanic shop.

5. Cosmic Salon &Â Tattoo
Cosmic Salon & Tattoo officially opened April 15, and is located at 8106 Memorial Pkwy SW Unit A, Huntsville, AL 35802. Owned by Lauren Laich, the salon offers a variety of services. The salon held its initial Open House event April 29 to introduce itself to the Rocket City!
