This has been a big week for the U.S. Space Command, as the House Appropriations Committee has approved $565 million for construction of the U.S. Space Command headquarters in Huntsville.

A big week for Space Command in Huntsville

The $565 million is split between two appropriations:

  • $450 million for the construction
  • $115 million for design

The funds will be distributed after approval by the U.S. House of Representatives.

The news of this funding comes as Gen. Stephen Whiting revealed a preliminary rendering of the headquarters during a briefing with Madison County Civic leaders.

The funding is part of the Fiscal Year 2027 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies funding bill.
