7 delicious pasta dishes served here in the Rocket City
Who doesn’t love some pasta? Whether it’s spaghetti, lasagna, macaroni — whatever you like — you pretty much can’t go wrong with a well-made pasta dish. And guess what, Huntsvillians? There are plenty of delicious pasta dishes right here in the Huntsville area.
And since Monday, Oct. 17, is National Pasta Day, here are 7 of my favorites in the area:

One of the best things about City Cafe, located at 2003 Drake Avenue in Huntsville, is that the menu is pretty extensive and diverse. And I have several go-to menu items when I eat there. However, I had never even heard of Moussaka before I moved to Huntsville and ate at this wonderful establishment.
Put simply, Moussaka is Greek lasagna, for lack of a better term. But traditional Moussaka doesn’t actually include pasta, so City Cafe has their own recipe that does. And it is as delicious as it is unique.
Tellini’s Fettuccini Alfredo with Grilled Chicken
Located at 1515 Perimeter Pkwy NW in Huntsville, Tellini’s has some of the best Italian food I have had anywhere. But I am partial to the fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken. It doesn’t seem as hearty and rich as most Alfredo dishes which leaves you more room to eat dessert!
Lasagna at Pane E Vino
I love visiting the Huntsville Museum of Art, and while I am there, I like to make sure I have time to drop in and eat at the restaurant downstairs, Pane E Vino.
In addition to delicious pizza, they serve a remarkable lasagna. And I am pretty picky about my lasagna. While their spaghetti and meatballs is delicious too, the winner of the menu at Pane E Vino is the lasagna. So darn good!
Spaghetti Primavera at Luigi’s Italian Grill
If you are looking for a restaurant with a full menu of can’t-miss pasta dishes, look no further than Luigi’s Italian Grill in Madison (7559 US-72 Suite 112). The best I have tried there is the Spaghetti Primavera.
Fresh veggies and a delicious creme sauce that is simply fantastic!
Mac and Cheese at Bark & Barrell BBQ
Who said that Italian restaurants have to have the best pasta dishes? Bark & Barrell BBQ, located at Stovehouse on Governors Drive, has a mac and cheese recipe that is about as tasty a dish as I have eaten since moving here.
This is a three-cheese penne dish that you will devour.
Spaghetti and Meatballs at Cork & Crust Pizzeria
Cork and Crust Pizzeria + Wine Bar in Madison actually makes their own pasta there at the restaurant. And you can tell. It makes a difference, as their spaghetti and meatballs is the best in the area (my opinion, but I will definitely defend that argument).
Visit them at 12120 County Line Rd in Madison.
Bowtie Caprese Pasta from Tortora’s
The bowtie caprese pasta from Tortora’s in Owens Cross Roads is a lighter dish that is on their lunch menu and it is marvelous. Fresh tomatoes, basil, mozzerella… yum…
Tortora’s is located at 182 Old Highway 431, Suite B in Owens Cross Roads.
