7 new building permits issued for large Huntsville-area projects
Among the 18 new building permits issued this week for million-dollar-plus construction projects in Alabama, seven were for large projects in the Huntsville area.
The largest of these projects involves the new Huntsville Logistics Center on Old Highway 20 NW. The two permits issued for the project total $70 million.
Huntsville Logistics Center
As we reported last week, officials broke ground on the $200 million dollar Huntsville Logistics Center, which is located at 29300 Old Hwy 20 NW near advance manufacturing facilities in southeast Limestone County. Two of the new building permits issued this week are for this massive project.
Here are some details on the project:
- Cost: Approximately $200 million
- Size: 2.2 million square feet across 4 buildings
- Location: Old Highway 20 and Gunters Way (off County Line Road, near the Mazda Toyota plant)
- Completion Date: Expected Q4 2023
