8 rooftop spots in Huntsville you should know about

July heat is in full swing, but it sure is nice to sit outside on the handful of low-humidity, slightly breezy days we’ve had here in the Rocket City. If you’re looking for a relaxing location for your next night out on the town, look no further.

We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite rooftop spots in Huntsville, where you can enjoy delicious food accompanied by beautiful views. Grab a seat, order a drink and take a breath before the following views take it from you!

1. BarVista

While BarVista isn’t a “rooftop” per se, it still offers a unique perspective of Big Spring Park that’s hard to find anywhere else downtown. Whether you’re staying at the AC Hotel or simply want to stop by for a drink with friends, BarVista is open to all patrons.

2. Baker + Able

This downtown spot is named after the first primates to survive space flight — their namesake and legacy lives on throughout the Rocket City. Come by Baker & Able, sitting atop 106 Jefferson, for a marvelous view of Downtown Huntsville.

3. Prohibition Rooftop Bar + Grill

Prohibition in Town Madison is one of our favorite spots to grab a drink and a wide variety of great food. The best part? There is also a wide variety of seating choices, whether you want to sit in the fully-enclosed downstairs area, the wide open upstairs area or the tucked-back “Hideout” area, you can go anywhere at Prohibition.

4. Moe’s Original BBQ

What’s better than Moe’s Original BBQ? Moe’s Original BBQ with a view! Enjoy your next elevated meal at their location in Downtown Huntsville, next to The Standard Social Market and Stella’s Elixir Lounge.

5. Pourhouse Huntsville

Let’s be honest, there’s no bad seat at Stovehouse. But if you’re looking for a prime view of the whole lawn, you have to head upstairs to the rooftop of Pourhouse. Bring up your food and drink from any Stovehouse restaurant and enjoy the views!

6. Back Forty Beer Company

The Birmingham-based Back Forty Beer Company opened its South Huntsville location last December and it’s definitely lived up to the hype. There’s seating everywhere, both inside and outside, so be sure to check it out.

7. Rhythm on Monroe

Rhythm on Monroe is one of the Rocket City’s most vibrant bars with one of the most dazzling rooftops. Get a glimpse of the Huntsville skyline from their roof, set with shaded spots and comfy seating.

8. Stella’s Elixir Lounge

Stella’s Elixir Lounge is a unique experience all around, and their rooftop seating is some of the coziest in Huntsville. Get an elevated, extra special view of Holmes Avenue and Downtown Huntsville while sipping on their stylish elixirs.
