A new Korean fried chicken restaurant has opened on Whitesburg Drive.

If you’ve only ever had American-style fried chicken, you don’t know what you’re missing.

The new Korean fried chicken restaurant is called Bonchon. We last mentioned them in an opening guide back in March when they were announced.

Bonchon means ‘my hometown’ or ‘my roots’ and started in South Korea before making its way to New York City in the early 2000s.

They offer not just fried chicken, but other traditional Korean dishes and street foods.

Bonchon announced last year their plans to open 5 locations throughout Alabama in 2024, so expect to see more of them when you travel south.

  • Where: 2338 Whitesburg Dr, Huntsville, AL 35801
  • When: Sun-Thur, 11 AM-9 PM | Fri + Sat, 11 AM-10 PM
  • Facebook | Instagram | Website

It’s always nice to see more diverse culinary options opening up in Huntsville, but if you want good Korean food Bonchon’s not the only place in town.

If you’re looking for some good Korean food in Huntsville, these places are worth a try:

  • Stone Age BBQ
    • With locations in both Huntsville and Madison, this location is a little different than a normal sit-down restaurant. Waiters bring out raw meats and seafood for you to prepare on a large cooktop in the center of your table.
  • I Love Korea
    • Located on Jordan Lane, this locally owned spot has authentic Korean food with a homemade feel.
  • COMING SOON: Seoul Good
    • Seoul Good is another Korean fried chicken spot that will be opening soon at Stovehouse.
