The University of Alabama kicks off its 2025 season against Florida State August 30 in Tallahassee. The Crimson Tide will come into the game ranked in the top 10 in preseason polls, so the expectations are certainly there.

Auburn opens the season August 29 at Baylor, as the Tigers begin the 2025 season unranked in national polls, but have optimistic expectations of improving on last season.

But in case you needed extra incentive to root for the Tigers or the Tide, here are a few players on their football rosters that have some local ties:

Alabama

  • Brody Dalton, Senior TE, Fyffe (Fyffe High School)
  • Griffin Hanson, Sophomore DB, Florence (Mars Hill Bible School)
  • Billy Roby, Junior OL, Huntsville (Huntsville High School)

Auburn

  • Malachi Harris, Sophomore OL, Huntsville (Mae Jemison High School)
  • Alex McPherson, Junior K, Fort Payne (Fort Payne High School)
