Reading time: 2 minutes

Jason Isbell’s ShoalsFest is back and better than ever.
The Grammy winner’s beloved music festival is back from a 2-year hiatus with a star-studded lineup ranging from folk legends to up-and-comers alike.
The lineup was announced via Instagram on Tuesday, April 8th. Keep reading for more details.
Who’s playing?
ShoalsFest is an iconic fixture of Muscle Shoals culture and has been missed during its absence.
While headliners Jason Isbell and Jackson Browne are synonymous with Americana and folk culture, all of the artists included in the lineup are incredible additions.
- Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman go hand-in-hand as the two have collaborated on multiple contemporary Americana tracks
- Steve Trash is a local legend known for his creative acts that combine environmentalism and close-up magic
- Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham are Shoals natives known for their work at the iconic FAME studios
From touring artists to local celebrities, there’s something for everyone.
Why The Shoals?

For its heavy influence on music culture (thanks, FAME studios!), The Shoals has always attracted artists and creatives. However, ShoalsFest thrives on Alabama culture within its lineup, too.
Isbell is from Green Hill, a small community near Killen, and Waxahatchee is a born-and-raised Birmingham native. For these reasons, along with local acts included, ShoalsFest is a bonafide celebration of Southern culture focused in Alabama.
