Blue Origin engine facility expansion among new building permits

Of the eight new building permits issued statewide this past week for construction projects exceeding $1 million, four are for projects in the Huntsville metro.

One of the largest of the group is for an expansion to the Blue Origin engine facility in Huntsville.

The Huntsville Blue Origin headquarters is undergoing an expansion to its 46-acre engine manufacturing facility. The $4.1 million expansion project will add 200,000 square feet of space to the existing 400,000-square-foot facility.

The manufacturing facility was designed with the ability to perform incremental upgrades as the system matures.

Delta Concrete & Industrial Contracting is listed as the lead contractor for this project.
