Free 2 teach provides free educational resources to public school educators across North Alabama. Serving eight public school systems and 159 public schools the organization provides year-round access to essential classroom supplies, books, STEM resources and other educational materials for more than 6,000 educators serving nearly 98,000 children.

Since its inception, the organization has given away more than $17 million in supplies to teachers in Madison and Limestone counties. Starting in October 2026, schools in Morgan County began benefitting from Free 2 Teach as well.

The donation Monday is significant in more ways than just the amount of money involved. It is symbolic because Boeing was the first corporate partner of Free 2 Teach when the organization launched in 2011. So with the launch of Free 2 Explore, Boeing was a logical corporate partner for the program’s expansion.

Free 2 Explore is meant to bring together businesses, nonprofits, educators and volunteers across the region. This involves lessons developed in collaboration with partners assembled into ready-to-use kits containing instructional materials and supplies for an entire classroom of 30 students.

“By investing in Free 2 Teach’s Free 2 Explore program, we’re helping to build a pipeline of talented, curious students who will become the engineers, scientists, and problem solvers driving our industry forward.

Supporting educators with the tools and resources to bring engaging, hands-on STEM experiences into their classrooms strengthens our local communities and ensures Alabama remains a hub for advanced manufacturing and aerospace excellence. This investment is a vital part of our commitment to workforce development and sustaining U.S. leadership in aerospace innovation.”

Chrystal Morgan, Boeing Executive Director of State Government Operations
