January 20 is the day we recognize the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and celebrate his life, contributions and sacrifices toward championing civil rights in the U.S.

In the Huntsville area, several events are planned to celebrate MLK Day. Here are some suggestions:

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Breakfast

This event will focus on the leadership principles set forth by Dr. King and how there are leaders in our community that are making our futures brighter. Business leaders from around the state will share their insights about how North and Central Alabama continue to grow and make our state stronger.

The Huntsville Alphas invite everyone to come to downtown Huntsville for the annual MLK Celebration Parade. This is always a fabulous event and worth attending every year.

Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service Cleanup

Join the City of Huntsville Green Team for a cleanup day in honor of Martin Luther King National Day of Service at Campus 805 and the surrounding areas.

For nearly four decades, the Delta Theta Lambda Education Foundation continues to serve as the proud host for Huntsville’s premiere event to honor the life and legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

MLK Dream Dinner + Program

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his dream for community, this is a community free dinner to commemorate a great fallen leader and discuss with community leaders how we can continue to activate the dream.
