5 chain restaurants we would love to see in Huntsville

A tenet of big cities is that they contain chain restaurants that are exclusive to other regions of the country. Huntsville has recently added a few of these chains but still has a ways to go.

Considering Huntsville is growing by the day as one of the biggest cities in the South, we believe it’s time for more chain restaurants to make their way to the community, starting with these five:

Caribou Coffee

Caribou Coffee is a Minnesota-based coffee chain that also offers tasty bagels, pastries and sandwiches. Like Starbucks, it has signature coffees in addition to seasonal selections.

However, the turtle mocha alone sets it apart as my personal favorite coffee chain. Unfortunately, the closest Caribou store is in Atlanta.

While Caribou has steadily made its way South from its northern roots, adding a location in Huntsville would improve an already thriving coffee scene.

Raising Cane’s

Raising Cane’s, a chain chicken restaurant based in Louisiana, does one thing and does it perfectly.

Strangely, this chain has not yet made its way to Huntsville despite its ties to the South. The closest locations are in Tuscaloosa and Nashville.

Adding Raising Cane’s to our city would spice up our fast food offerings for the better.

Crisp & Green

Crisp & Green is probably lesser known than the other entries on this list. However, we believe it could provide great value as a healthy alternative to many of Huntsville’s existing fast-food chains.

Their menu includes a delicious selection of signature salads, grain bowls, hero wraps, smoothies, aguas frescas and more. Adding this chain restaurant to Huntsville would benefit the health-conscious individual with another fast dining option.

In-N-Out Burger

In-N-Out Burger is a beloved burger chain primarily found in California, with no location remotely near Huntsville. However, some locations are opening in Tennessee within the next few years.

If In-N-Out expands to other nearby areas, it could supplement Huntsville’s already strong line of burger chains.

Shake Shack

Shake Shack also carries a menu of well-regarded burgers. You can also order chicken, hot dogs and sweet treats.

Shake Shack, interestingly, has numerous nearby locations in Birmingham, Nashville and Atlanta. Huntsville has yet to add one, but this chain restaurant could be another valuable option in our community.
