Construction begins on new Lewter District Townhomes

Construction began this month on the new Lewter District Townhomes in Downtown Huntsville. The 14 luxury townhomes will stand in the former the parking lot of the hardware store that opened in 1928.

Lewter District Townhomes under construction
The new townhomes feature a range of custom-designed floor plans, including three and four-bedroom configurations.
Features include:
- Most of the 14 homes feature 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, and 2,950 to 3,300 square feet of living space over 3 floors. One home offers a unique 4-bedroom floor plan spanning 3,250 square feet.
- Generously proportioned rooms feature high ceilings & a flexible floorplan that accommodates a primary suite, a home office, guest bedrooms & great storage.
- Features include white oak flooring, kitchen with natural stone backsplash and quartz counters, a professional gas range, gas fireplace and more.
- Each home is wired for smart thermostats & locks, a Sonos audio system, high speed wi-fi and other automation systems.
- Options include an elevator and/or a rooftop deck/penthouse- offering great views of Monte Sano.
Part of the new Lewter District mixed-use community
The townhomes are one phase of the Lewter District development, which will be completed in three phases. The $50 million project is being developed and constructed by Emergent Properties and RNGD, which will open a local office within the district.
Another phase involves restoration and renovation of the historic Lewter Hardware Company building. Brick & Tin, a farm-to-table fast casual restaurant, bar and bakery, will occupy the 5,500-sq.-ft. first level and adjacent outdoor spaces.
The final phase includes a new five-story, 75,000-sq.-ft. Class-A office building that will feature 4,500 sq. ft. of ground-floor retail.
