Mission
Since its first Open Mic Night in 2014, Out Loud has prided itself on providing a welcoming and safe atmosphere for voices from all walks of life to interact with each other.
This organization aims to help local writing talent grow and thrive. After all, one of the most important steps for any writer is sharing work with others.
By building a community of like-minded literary enthusiasts, Out Loud helps writers feel more secure about sharing their work with an audience that truly cares.
Events
Every month, this organization hosts an Open Mic Night at the Speakeasy at Straight to Ale. Occasionally, it also hosts workshops, lectures and more.
Signing up for an open mic night also means that your work will automatically qualify for entry into their annual anthology publication.
Submissions for this year’s anthology open on November 17th and close on December 20th. For consideration, your piece has to be read at one of their Open Mic Nights, so be sure to sign up while you still can!
