What is the Rebuild Alabama Act?
The Rebuild Alabama Act, which was passed by Legislature in 2019, raised the statewide gasoline and diesel taxes by 10 cents per gallon to provide additional funding for road projects.
The act requires the Alabama Department of Transportation to establish an annual program setting aside a minimum of $10 million off the top of the state’s share of gas tax revenue for local projects.
