With spring weather here, outdoor music festivals are in season, and Huntsville has a few of them coming up over the next few weeks. The return of PorchFest in Five Points and the BBQ & Soul Fest are coming in May, and this weekend features the Crawfish Festival in MidCity.

Here’s what to know:

Crawfish Festival

The Crawfish Festival at MidCity is this weekend, featuring the Yonder Mountain String Band, Hot 8 Brass Band, Admiral Phunk, Pat Jamar and more local musicians. Of course in addition to the music is tons and tons of crawfish to eat.

Proceeds help the Kids to Love Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to meeting the immediate needs of foster children.

PorchFest Five Points

Started during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to counter the closure of local music venues, PorchFest has become a huge music event here in Huntsville. With musicians playing on the front porches of homes all along Pratt Avenue in Five Points, this is a cool and free event.

Rocket City BBQ + Soul Fest

The largest BBQ Festival in North Alabama is back. Enjoy great food, friends, live music, a BBQ Cook-Off and activities for the entire family. Bring a lawn chair and relax below a shade tree while taking in the soulful sounds from the regions best soul artists and DJ’s.
