Check out Huntsville’s views with cocktails—5 spectacular spots
Reading time: 4 minutes
What’s better than a cocktail? A cocktail with a view. One thing I’ve learned from living in the Yellowhammer State is that there is nothing quite like an Alabama sunset. Grab a drink and enjoy the view. Keep reading for the deets on five places you can sip and watch.
1. Burritt on the Mountain
Cocktails at the View, hosted by Burritt on the Mountain, was one of the first Huntsville events I heard about after moving to Rocket City. Needless to say, it is a favorite among Huntsvillians. You can enjoy the view from an overlook and your cocktails from a full service cash bar.

4. Baker & Able
Did you know the first monkeys to successfully complete and survive a round trip to space were Miss Baker and Miss Able? They rode to space in a Huntsville-built rocket—once again, showing that Rocket City is the perfect nickname. You can pay tribute to them at their namesake bar, Baker & Able.
You’ll find this rooftop bar at downtown Huntsville’s newest hotel, 106 Jefferson. Look out for the two monkeys climbing up the hotel. Delicious drinks and a chance to show your admiration for your city? Count me in.
You can lay bananas on Miss Baker’s grave at the United States Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. Another way to pay homage is by lifting your glass:
- Where: 106 Jefferson Street S, Huntsville, AL 35801
