Cane Creek Nature Preserve Hike
(Moderate / about 4 hours / 5 miles)
Hooper Falls is 2.5 miles out for a one-way, 5 miles round trip. We will be taking it easy on the hike and moving at a leisurely pace. The hike is of moderate difficulty with some rolling hill climbs coming mostly at the end of the hike as we climb back out of the preserve towards the parking area. Hikers are encouraged to pack some snacks or a sack lunch and bring a full water bottle. We will be passing water stations along the way to refill water bottles, so there are no worries there. Hooper Falls is a less frequented site on the preserve but a great one to visit, especially after a good hard rainfall. Wildlife and wildflowers abound in this part of the preserve so be sure to bring your camera or cell phone!
Location: Cane Creek Canyon Nature Preserve – 251 Loop Rd, Tuscumbia, AL 35674
