Monday Mountain Explorers

Families with elementary aged children are invited to attend these homeschool enrichment program events focused on exploring the natural environment to develop a connection to the land, to wildlife and to each other. We will learn about Alabama’s biodiversity and natural resources through weekly seasonal nature-based themes.
We will read literature together to spark curiosity about the natural world, we will discover and explore our natural environment together through walks and family-led activities, we will introduce the concept of field journaling as a way to capture our discoveries, and ultimately we will foster community through interactions in our natural environment.
Additional Notes:
- Please dress appropriately and bring your own water/snacks for a short hike.
- Participants will be provided with a field journal; participants are encouraged to keep the field journal and bring to future events.
- Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the event.
Ages: Elementary aged children (ages 5-11) and their caregivers
