*** POSTPONED ***Neuroscience of Nature at Harvest Square

Due to forecasted high winds and heavy rain, this event has been postponed one day.  It will be held Sunday, October 11, from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.  All other details are the same.

Come explore the Neuroscience of Nature and discover tools and techniques in the natural world that can better our lives and improve wellness and mental health. In this program, students gain a deeper understanding of brain function and sensory systems that is grounded in nature. Participants will learn how neurons in the brain change with experience to create memory and influence mood, then test these concepts in a natural setting through activities designed for them to engage their senses, practice mindfulness and focused attention, and reflect on the new ideas and questions brought about by these experiences. Hands-on investigations, interactive group creation projects, and nature journaling are part of the program. The experience culminates in a quiet, reflective, and immersive walk through the woods.

Leader: Rosemary Puckett is a neuroscientist by training and a naturalist at heart. She is a researcher and educator who studies how experience changes the brain during learning and memory formation.
