xperience the Highlands at Piper & Leaf: A Family-Friendly Preview of the Rocket City Scottish Festival
LACEY’S SPRING, AL – March 29, 2025 – Get ready for a taste of Scotland right here in Lacey’s Spring! The Rocket City Scottish Festival and Highland Games invites families to experience the thrill of Highland Games, the beauty of Scottish dance, and the stirring sounds of bagpipes at a special preview event, “Gaelic Games at Piper & Leaf,” on Saturday, March 29th at Piper & Leaf Tea Co Headquarters.
Witness incredible feats of strength and skill as Highland Games athletes demonstrate traditional events like the caber toss, stone put, and hammer throw. Be mesmerized by the energetic performances of Highland dancers and captivated by the haunting melodies of bagpipers.
“Kids will love seeing the caber toss, and everyone will enjoy the music and dancing,” says Micaila, Piper & Leaf event organizer working with the Rocket City Scottish Festival. “Gaelic Games at Piper & Leaf is a fantastic opportunity for families to experience Scottish culture firsthand before the main festival in May.”
Enjoy delicious fare from Souper Sandwiches (by popular request!) while soaking in the festive atmosphere. Bring a chair or blanket for a comfortable front-row seat to the excitement.
This free family event offers a glimpse of the full Rocket City Scottish Festival and Highland Games, taking place in May 2025 at Sharon Johnston Park in Huntsville. The main festival will feature even more activities, vendors, and entertainment for the whole family.
