Raised Bed Gardening

This class welcomes all beginner gardeners and new transplants to the area. We will discuss reasons for having a raised garden bed, types of containers that can be used, and proper set up so that you have success this season in your gardens. We will have the opportunity to walk around the garden discussing different types of raised beds, and their will be a hands on activity to put what we’ve learned into practice.

Additional Information: This class will take place in-person at the Huntsville Botanical Garden and will include time walking outside.  Please come dressed appropriately for the weather.

Instructor : Brittany Schenck is a Horticulturist at the Huntsville Botanical Garden, with 5 years previous experience as a seasonal gardener here under her belt. She earned her degree in Biology at University of Alabama in Huntsville and spent her time between classes running the campus greenhouse and community garden. When she is not at the garden, she is still enjoying the outdoors as a family photographer, a hiker, and swimming at waterfalls.
