Weekday Hike at Green Mountain South

(Moderate / about 2 hours / just over 2 miles)

Join us for a fantastic fall season hike on the Land Trust of North Alabama’s Green Mountain Nature Preserve.  This hike will take us through a beautiful hardwood forest in the late fall – expect bare trees and cool temperatures!

During this hike, we’ll be hosting hikers from Huntsville’s Sandra Moon Community Complex who might be joining us for the first time — welcome to them!  Thank you, SMCC, for the opportunity to partner with you for this event and those in the future. 

We’ll start at the Alum Hollow Trailhead and walk the Alum Hollow Trail out and back.   This trail is relatively level with the exception of the last 100 yards or so.  The pace will be slow and we’ll rest often!

Participants should dress for the weather and wear shoes suitable for walking on uneven terrain.  Bring a water bottle (and snack if you think you’ll want one).

Meeting Location: The Alum Hollow Trailhead, located about half a mile past the entrance to the Madison County Nature Trail, at 13800 South Shawdee Road, Huntsville, AL 35803
