Village of Promise’s impact extends beyond One Table.

Founded in 2011, the nonprofit family advancement center takes a multigenerational approach to helping children and families move beyond poverty in under-resourced Northwest Huntsville neighborhoods.

Village of Promise serves qualified families with free to low-cost programs including:

  • Early childhood: Childcare + First Class Pre-K that prepare children for school + lifelong learning
  • Summer programs: Summer Literacy, Arts, & Math enrichment for rising first through third graders
  • Family support: Family literacy, parent education + English language learning
  • Adult opportunity: GED prep, adult literacy + workforce development

CEO Jaymes Mooney gave us a tour of Village of Promise, which serves 82 kids ages 0-4 (many of whom ran up to Jaymes to give him a hug) and their parents.

One Table and the efforts of Village of Promise are made possible by local volunteers, sponsors and partners.

One Village of Promise board member, Shateka Montague, shared her perspective on One Table’s impact:

“Village of Promise does so much to empower families in our community to break the cycle of poverty and advance themselves through education.

One Table is another meaningful way in which they connect our communities and celebrate the people who live here.”
