Gear up for these fall sports right here in the Rocket City

As we mentioned in our weekend events guide this week, the Rocket City Trash Pandas are winding down their season this weekend, and the Huntsville City FC has just a few more matches left in their season. This means summer sports are giving way to fall sports.
Football season has already begun, but basketball and hockey are not far behind. Luckily for Huntsvillians, we have you covered for all of these fall sports.
Take a look:
Alabama A&M football

Alabama A&M plays 6 home games this year at Louis Crews Stadium, and you can come out and cheer on the Bulldogs for any or all of these games:
- September 6 vs Alcorn State: 6PM
- September 20 vs. Lane: 6PM
- October 4 vs. Jackson State: 5PM
- October 11 vs. Mississippi Valley State: 2PM
- November 8 vs. Prairie View: 2PM
- November 15 vs. Florida A&M: 2PM

Huntsville Havoc hockey

The Huntsville Havoc plays in the Southern Professional Hockey League, and begins their season in October. The first Havoc home game is October 24 at the team’s home rink, Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center.
PS: Huntsville Havoc has a fresh look this year with a brand new logo, so be sure to get your updated gear!
The season runs through the fall and winter and into early spring, but be sure to get in on the action early in the season with these fall games:
- October 24 vs. Pensacola: 7PM
- November 9 vs. Birmingham: 5PM
- November 14 vs. Macon: 7PM
- November vs. Birmingham: 5PM
- November 21 vs Pensacola: 7PM
- November 22 vs. Pensacola: 7PM
- November 27 vs. Knoxville: 7PM
- November 28 vs. Quad City: 7PM

UAH soccer

The UAH Chargers men’s and women’s soccer teams started their 2025 seasons this week. The games are free to attend and are played at Charger Park on the UAH campus.
Here’s the men’s team home schedule:
- September 7 vs. Carson-Newman: 3PM
- September 11 vs. Georgia Southwestern: 6PM
- September 19 vs. Lee: 7:30PM
- October 3 vs. Montevallo: 7:30PM
- October 5 vs. AUM: 3:30PM
- October 17 vs. Mississippi College: 7:30PM
- October 19 vs. Delta State: 3:30PM
- October 24 vs. West Alabama: 6PM
The women’s team schedule looks like this:
- September 7 vs. Tampa: 11AM
- September 12 vs. St. Leo: 12PM
- September 19 vs. Lee: 5PM
- October 3 vs. AUM: 5PM
- October 5 vs. Valdosta State: 1PM
- October 17 vs. Mississippi College: 5PM

Alabama A&M women’s soccer

The Bulldogs have already started their soccer season, but the remaining five home games (free to attend) are on these dates:
- September 26 vs. Jackson State: 3PM
- September 28 vs. Southern: 1PM
- October 10 vs. Texas Southern: 3PM
- October 12 vs. Prairie View: 1PM
- October 31 vs. Alabama State: 3PM
College basketball

Alabama A&M and UAH will officially begin their basketball seasons at the end of November, but the Bulldogs and Chargers (both men’s and women’s teams) will actually play each other in a preseason game October 27 at the AAMU Event Center.
All four programs will play some exhibition games leading up to the regular season, but as far as the first official home games are concerned, the basketball seasons tip off on these dates:
- Alabama A&M women’s basketball: November 5 vs. Talladega College
- Alabama A&M men’s basketball: November 13 vs. Charleston Southern
- UAH women’s basketball: November 19 vs. Reinhardt
- UAH men’s basketball: November 22 vs Bluefield

Beach volleyball

Huntsville will host the 2025 AVCA Central Qualifier for Beach National Championships October 31-November 2 at John Hunt Park, and then host the American Volleyball Coaches Association National Championships November 6-9.
