Get excited about these spring events happening in the Rocket City

Okay, we get it. Right now, we are still in February and likely have two or three more cold snaps to deal with, but it doesn’t hurt to look ahead to some spring events and what the season has in store.

Here are some events we think will make your spring spectacular this year:

1. Conference USA Basketball Championships – March 11-15

Conference USA is teaming up with the city of Huntsville, Alabama, to bring its premier basketball event to the Rocket City. The 2025 Conference USA Basketball Championships takes place March 11-15 in the VBC Propst Arena, featuring men’s and women’s basketball teams competing for CUSA titles and an NCAA automatic bid.

2. 5th Annual Women’s Expo – March 29

Experience a day filled with marketplace vending, live performances, business networking, support resources and so much more at the Women’s Expo at the VBC.

3. Battle of the Buffalo Charity Event – April 12

The 16th Annual Battle of the Buffalo Charity Event is coming to Big Spring Park in April. This is one of those spring events that has grown every year. This year’s chicken wing festival features wings from some of Huntsville’s favorite restaurants. All proceeds raised benefit local cancer research and treatment.

4. Pup Palooza – April 13

The Orion Amphitheater is partnering with The Greater Huntsville Humane Society to host a FREE pup-friendly festival featuring a shelter supply drive, pet costume contest, live local music, food trucks, vendors and more.

5. Panoply Arts Festival – April 25-27

Whether you want to expand your art collection, engage in creative play with your children, enjoy some North Alabama music, or simply scope out the scene — there is something for everyone to experience at Panoply, which has become one of the premier arts festivals in the South.

6. Les Misérables – May 6-11

Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg’s Ton Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables.

7. Avett Brothers – May 10

Don’t miss the Grammy-nominated Avett Brothers, touring in support of their self-titled album — that is as much untitled as it is self-titled: a collection of songs that revealed themselves naturally over time. Huntsville local band Red Flags will open up.
