Reading time: 4 minutes
It’s shopping season—but that doesn’t mean shopping just for things. It also means shopping for experiences!
Huntsville’s got so much to offer if you’re looking to give the gift of an experience rather than something in a box or bag.
So, let’s get into it!
1. Season tickets
- Huntsville Havoc: Season tickets have already sold out for Havoc hockey, but you can grab some single game tickets or get on the list for season tickets next year.
- Trash Pandas: Grab some season tickets to one of the most iconic teams in Minor League Baseball. These may be a little pricey, but they last for three years!
- North Alabama War Dawgs: The North Alabama War Dawgs are an ABA basketball team, and they offer season tickets to catch every game.
- Broadway Theatre League: To catch Aladdin, Riverdance and all Broadway Theatre League’s other entertaining shows, grab season tickets.
- Fantasy Playhouse: Fantasy Playhouse always has fun shows like Tinker Bell and Snow White in this season (their 62nd season!). Grab season tickets to never miss a beat!
2. Memberships
- U.S. Space and Rocket Center: No list like this would be complete without the Sprocket. Gift a membership for a gift that’s both educational and fun.
- Burritt on the Mountain: Historic experiences galore! Burrit on the Mountain’s membership program has many benefits—give them a look!
- Huntsville Botanical Gardens: A membership at this beautiful Huntsville spot provides some magical experiences and helps the nonprofit keep growing!
- Earlyworks Family of Museums: The family of museums includes the Children’s Museum, Constitution Hall Park and Museum and Historic Huntsville Depot. Grab a membership to experience all three, all the time!
3. Holiday event reservations
- Miracle at Midcity: Reserve a spot at the Miracle at MidCity for a 4-top table or a group of eight or more for an experience that will be remembered for years to come—not only for the company but also for the amazing food and drinks.
- Orion Igloo: The Winter Park at the Orion has many features—including igloo rentals! Reserve one for a unique experience in your own private igloo with charcuterie, specialty cocktails and a dessert platter. You can also make it kid-friendly!
- Holiday Light Shows: Get tickets to the Rocket City Christmas Light Show or the Galaxy of Lights for a never-gets-old experience.
- Star of Bethlehem: Grab tickets to learn about astronomical theories surrounding the story of Bethlehem and the magi.
4. Concert tickets
- Orion: Check out these concerts already on the lineup for 2023, and grab tickets for the one you think they’d love to experience.
- Von Braun Center: The Von Braun Center has concerts going on all year round, so it’s never a bad time to gift some concert tickets!
- Mars Music Hall: One of the Von Braun Center’s newest additions has its own concerts, so be on the lookout for them to announce new ones and get first dibs on tickets.
5. Classes
We’ve rounded up some fun, crafty experiences that would make great gifts for both kids and adults. Find them here!
6. Outdoor adventures
- Monte Sano: Book a camping trip to one of Huntsville’s most well-known woodsy spots, and experience those amazing views and natural surroundings.
- Ice Skating: Grab passes to go ice skating at one of these three spots!
- Horseback Riding: Gift an experience learning riding skills at HayWire Ranch or Star HB Farms, both located inside Huntsville!
7. Comedy + show tickets
- Von Braun Center: Would they rather be amazed by a dance like Shen Yun or serenaded by the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra? Get tickets to one of the VBC’s many upcoming shows.
- Shenanigans Comedy Theatre: Shenanigans has comedy shows each weekend, so gift them tickets for all the laughs.
- Stand Up Live: Even more laughs! Stand Up Live brings in some top-notch comedians all throughout the year, so pick one they’d love and grab tickets before they sell out!
