This week, we have seven new businesses in the Huntsville area to tell you about, and (unfortunately) one closing in the area. From a new soda spot to a new bank branch, we have some cool new additions to the business community.

1. FirstBank
- What: The past year has included multiple new bank branch openings in the Huntsville area. This new FirstBank branch on Franklin in Huntsville officially opened June 24.

2. Century Automotive Collision Center
- What: While Century Automotive is certainly not one of the “new” businesses here in Huntsville, its new collision center is, opening last week on Jordan Lane.

3. Crocs
- What: This popular footwear brand now has its own store at Bridge Street Town Centre. This much-anticipated opening is a huge addition to Bridge Street!

4. Electric Slice Pizza
- What: This new pizza spot in Hampton Cove opened over the weekend, serving “electrifying” pies using handcrafted dough and signature toppings.

5. Rocket City Fizz
- What: Huntsville’s new “dirty soda” bar is opening soon on Four Mile Post Road. This is a fun concept specializing in customized sodas and good times.

6. Sands of Sahara
- What: Check out Huntsville’s newest upscale nightclub, with signature cocktails, eats and music all night long.

7. Birds of a Feather & Friends
- What: Those of you who have visited the Birds of a Feather spaces at Railroad Antiques already know about the fabulous selection of antiques and artwork they have. This new shop on Whitesburg has all of that and more.

With new businesses comes one closing
Although we are excited to announce new businesses opening in the area, every now and then we do have to announce a closing (luckily, the openings outnumber the closings).
Snickerpoodles, the consignment shop on Whitesburg Drive, is closing this month, but is currently holding a 50% off sale to clear inventory.
