You know, if you don’t do anything while in Huntsville this weekend, it’s because you simply don’t want to, because there are so many cool things to do in the Rocket City over the enxt few days.

If you want to hear some live music, this is a good weekend for it in the Rocket City. Here are a few shows happening around town:

  • Five O’Clock Charlie Album Release Party: June 9, Stovehouse, 7PM. Come celebrate the release of Five O’Clock Charlie’s new album!
  • Queerspace w/DJ Lisha: June 9, Orion Amphitheater, 7PM. Powered by DJ Lisha and Rocket City Pride, Queer Space welcomes North Alabama’s Queer community for a celebration of dance, drag, music, and so much more.
  • Winger: June 9, Mars Music Hall, 7PM. If you listened to hair-band metal in the 80s, you likely listened to Winger. Well, catch the band live this weekend at the VBC!
  • Jimmy Henderson Trio: June 10, Mad Malts Brewery, 7PM. Catch the bluesy and talented Jimmy Henderson in Huntsville this weekend live at Mad Malts!
  • Dr. Whateva: June 10, Voodoo Lounge, 9PM. Just about any live show at the Voodoo Lounge is going to be fun, and this one is no exception!

Want to go to a tattoo show? How about a cool film festival? Or maybe you would like to attend a cigar festival. Well, you’re in luck in Huntsville this weekend:

  • Southern Fried Film Festival: June 8-11, Studio Theatre at Lowe Mill, Fri. 5PM, Sat, 12PM, Sun. 2PM. This is one of Huntsville coolest events, with documentaries, short films, horror movies and more created by local filmmakers.
  • Huntsvegas Tattoo Expo: June 9-11, Von Braun Center, Fri. 2PM, Sat. & Sun. 11AM. The HuntsVegas Tattoo Expo unites tattoo artists and lovers from all over the country to Huntsville for a three-day event all about ink, talent and tattoos as artists compete for a series of awards.
  • The Flip Sports Cards + Collectibles Trade Show: June 10-11, Von Braun Center, 12PM. Buy, sell, and trade sports cards and memorabilia, funkopops, Pokemon, autographs, comics, coins, wrestling, Nascar/F1, diecast, toys, Tcgs video games, jerseys, sneaker, and more!
  • Adam Corrolla: June 10, Stand Up Live, 7PM. Catch the hilarious comedy of Adam Corrolla from “The Man Show” and MTV’s “Dr. Drew.”
  • Smoke + Ashes Cigar Fest: June 10, Orion Amphitheater, 1PM. This is a one-day ticketed event where guests can enjoy music (DJ), vendors, and great food provided by an array of food trucks.

Whether its baseball, soccer, football or whatever, chances are good you can find something sporty going on in Huntsville this weekend:

  • Trash Pandas vs Smokies: June 9-11, Toyota Field, Fri. – Sat. 6:30PM, Sun. 4PM. The Trash Pandas are at home for three games this weekend against the Tennessee Smokies.
  • Fitness in the Park: June 10, Big Spring Park, 9AM. This outdoor yoga class is led by Anita K and is totally free!
  • Monty Rice Football Camp: June 10, James Clemens High School, 10AM. Join Tennessee Titans linebacker Monty Rice as he hosts his 1st Annual Football Camp at his alma mater. This is a free camp for players ages 5 to 15.
  • Carrying Hope Trail Run: June 11, Monte Sano State Park, 8AM. This trail run follows the South Plateau Loop for 3.5 miles and is rated easy to moderate, making it perfect for all age groups and fitness levels.
  • Huntsville City FC vs St. Louis: June 11, Joe Davis Stadium, 6PM. Cheer on your very own Huntsville City Football Club as they take on St; Louis at Joe Davis Stadium.
