This week we have several businesses opening up around town, including some updates from previous openings highlights.

We unfortunately also have a business closing announcement.

Honeys Backyard Jerk Chicken

  • What: Honey’s Backyard Chicken is now open on Governors Drive, but for now will be open three days a week until they are fully staffed. If you dig some jerk spices, you will love Honey’s.

  • What: Huntsville’s newest independent film theater opens this weekend! The Independent, which has, up until now, held its showings at Mad Malts, is now in Studio 150 at Lowe Mill.

Athens billiards hall now permanently closed

Unfortunately, Legends Billiards in Athens announced last month via social media it is closing permanently. The pool hall, located on Marion Street, had been open since 2022.
