Heritage Christian University's resource center among new building permits

Of the 15 new building permits issued across the state this past week for construction projects exceeding $1 million, six were for projects in North Alabama.

Of these, the priciest permit was for a new resource center on the Heritage Christian University campus in Florence. Here’s more:

Heritage Christian University issued $4.8 million permit

Heritage Christian University secured a building permit for a resource center on campus with a total construction cost of $4.8 million. The 25,000-square-foot building will serve as a hub for learning, worship and administrative support.

The Student Resource Center will house:

HCU’s library
The university’s rarities collections
The HCU chapel
Student media center

Summit Structures is listed as the lead contractor on this project. Ground was broken in March.
