HSV concourse renovation + more high-dollar building permits

This past week, four of the 17 new building permits issued across the state for construction projects exceeding $1 million are for Huntsville-area projects.

One of the pricier permits issued is for a concourse renovation at the Huntsville International Airport.

HSV concourse to undergo major renovation

The Huntsville airport has undergone a series of major upgrades in the last year or so, and those renovations and remodels continue, as a $6.7 million building permit was issued last week to Robins & Morton for a 42,000-square-foot renovation of the main concourse.

The project is slated for completion in late 2027.

This is the latest in a handful of recent permits issued for the airport. Work has already begun on new parking facilities at HSV, which will add 1,400 additional parking spaces, and a recent building permit for $14.4 million was issued to Robins & Morton for a new 21,000-square-foot Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Station at HSV.
